Our comfort quilt program is a big part of our guild. It's what we, as quilters, are all about.

The approximate size of our Comfort Quilts is 40 x 50 inches. They are cut into kits and sewn by our members. We are so fortunate to have long arm quilters who are so generous with their time to quilt these gems. They are Roxanne Borean (209.728.9978), Tisha Cabral, Laurella Kerr and Marcia Smith-Boll (209.795.5241). 

The bottom line, every year more than 160 quilts are "made with love" and donated to Calaveras County's Child Protective Services for children in need of some comfort of their own.  Others are given to Shriners Hospitals for children undergoing treatment, surgery or therapy. Also, our guild provides Comfort Quilts for the Ebbetts Pass Fire District's  "Post Trauma Kits".

If we hear of a child involved in an accident or having a serious illness, we make an attempt to contact the family to give them a comfort quilt.
