The
Independence Hall Quilters will again hold their annual Quilt Faire at
the beautiful Ironstone Vineyards Winery in Murphys, California. As
always, numerous quilts, wall hangings, wearable art, handmade dolls,
and needle art will be on display. Click here to see a slideshow of last year's event. The
Faire will open Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, from 9 am to
4 pm, and on Sunday, October 21, 2012, from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission is
$7 at the door. Ironstone Vineyards Winery, a popular destination in Calaveras County, is located at 1894 Six Mile Road, Murphys, CA, and is easily reached by driving to Murphys and following the signs. Visitors will have a chance to vote for their favorite quilts, attend
demonstrations, win door prizes, browse through vendor booths, and shop
at the Boutique and Country Store. The popular Boutique will be filled with a wonderful variety of handmade articles, such as quilts,
table linens, holiday decorations, wearable art and numerous gift
items, all for sale at incredible prices. The Country Store will have homemade baked goods, each delightfully wrapped on its own dish.
Visitors purchase tickets to win the guild-designed and stunningly beautiful “Scholarship Quilt” and
various “I.H.Q. Treasures.” The drawing will be held on Sunday. Independence
Hall Quilters use proceeds from the annual Quilt Faire to donate to The Resource Connection, including the Women’s Crisis
Center and Child Protective Services, area youth with catastrophic
illness or accidents, Shriners Hospital, area schools, parks, libraries and and other community
organizations, and scholarships to Bret Harte High School. The guild believes in giving back to the community. |
